The venue

The venue for the conference is the main campus of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. It is located in the very city centre of Milan, in a historic monastery next to the 10th century church of Sant’Ambrogio. Within a 10-minute walking distance there are the cathedral (Duomo), the opera house (La Scala), and the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie, with the famous Last Supper mural painting by Leonardo da Vinci.

To and from the conference venue

You can easily get to the conference venue from Milan international airports:

  • Linate in about 30 minutes by bus or taxi (please click here for more info);
  • Malpensa in about 30 minutes by train (please click here for more info);

There is also the Milan Bergamo airport, which is base for several low cost companies, at approx. 1h by bus from Milan city centre.

Milan underground network is the fastest way to get to the conference venue (MM1 red line stop “Cadorna”, and MM2 green line stop “S. Suggestions for accomodation

Special room rates for conference attendees in hotels in the very city centre, nearby the conference venue are the following (2016 rates, still to be confirmed for 2017):

  • 95 euro/night (standard single room) and 105 euro/night (standard/deluxe double room) at B&B S.Ambrogio
  • 95/110 euro/night (standard/deluxe single room) and 135/150 euro/night (standard/deluxe double room) at Palazzo delle Stelline (3 stars)
  • 120 euro/night (standard single room) and 175 euro/night (standard double room) at King Hotel (4 stars)
  • 165 euro/night (standard single room) and 225 euro/night (standard double room) at Pierre Hotel (5 stars)

Accommodations, which are subject to availability, may be booked at agenziaviaggi@unicatt.it (please indicate “2017 CWF Conference”). Agency fee is 8 Euro.

Milan offers a broad range of accommodations, from economy to luxury hotels and B&B. Special and lower fees may be found on the web, also in other hotels in other parts of the city.
