The Department
The Department of Modern and Contemporary History was constituted during the academic year 2008-2009 as evolution of the pre-existing Institute of Modern and Contemporary History originated during the academic year 1988-1989 from the division into two independent research units of the Institute of medieval and modern history, which had been operating since the foundation of the University.
