The International Economics, Institutions and Development Department was constituted the 1st of July 1992 with a rectoral decree (Decreto Rettorale n.13335).
The Department promotes and develops scientific research on the following areas: characteristics and properties of interaction mechanisms among different autonomous agents, phenomena determining long-term relations among groups of actors, the determinants and the effects of the institutional framework ruling out society, their role in promoting the efficiency of resources and their relevance in the process of growth and development, in particular focusing on trade of goods and services and on mobility of resources between societies.
Since 1995, initiatives and seminars, initially organised by Centro di Ricerche in Analisi economica, Economia internazionale e Sviluppo economico (CRANEC), have been actively embodied into DISEIS.
