Theory of Mind
Goal
The Theory of Mind Research Unit is a work team at the Psychology Department of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
The Unit has been founded by Professor Olga Liverta Sempio and Professor Antonella Marchetti.
The Unit main research topic is the study of the Theory of Mind in Developmental and Educational Psychology in a life-span perspective, in typical and atypical conditions.
To achieve this goal, the Unit research is focused on studying the relations between Theory of Mind and:
- Decision making
- Reasoning Biases
- Emotions
- Language and Figurative Language
- Neural bases of mentalization
Doctors Ilaria Castelli, Davide Massaro and Annalisa Valle work into the Research Unit as Research Fellows.
Besides, Doctors Luciana Campomilla, Giulia Cavalli, Valentina Cornetti, Eleonora di Terlizzi and Serena Petrocchi collaborates with the Unit.
Furthermore, the members of the Unit collaborate with several international researchers, such as Professor Cristina Bicchieri (University of Pennsylvania)), Professor Ken Rotenberg (University of Keele), Professor Alan Sanfey (University of Arizona, Nijmegen University).
In addition to publications in national and international journals, the Research Unit edits the "Research Unit Papers on Theory of Mind."
