The MERITEA Research Unit (Metodi di ricerca e Tecniche di Analisi – Research methods
and data analyses) aims to investigate the complexity of phenomena, studying innovative
research designs in the social sciences and, in particular, in psychology. Specific attention is
dedicated to instruments’ construction and validation, and to data analysis techniques that allow
the investigation linear and not linear processes. Psychometric and methodological reflections
within the psychology discipline is constantly evolving and, especially since the discipline's
credibility crisis (2011), is witnessing new developments that need to be shared in the scientific
community. To this end, the research unit enhances the collaboration among researchers and
professors, experts in different research methods and different data analysis techniques. The
experience and skills of the unit will also be made available through methodological and data
analysis consultancy, training and in-depth study opportunities.
