Renata Lollo

Since 1994 Renata Lollo has been researching children's literature at Università Cattolica as a researcher and from 2000 to 2012 as Full Professor of History of Pedagogy at the Milan, Brescia and Piacenza campuses.

His research has offered scholars in the field a fundamental contribution from an epistemological point of view in the interweaving of historical-educational and aesthetic-literary reflection and in today's panorama of the discipline they have contributed to tracing a recognizable direction of school of thought.

Her high magisterium, always put at the service of the University and students, was appreciated even after her retirement, since for two years Prof. Lollo continued to teach History of Reading and Literature for the Developmental Age at the Piacenza campus.

An incurable illness prevented her from continuing to devote herself to her favorite studies, until her death, which took place in Novara on April 26, 2017.

A dutiful scientific reflection around the lines of research cultivated over time by Renata Lollo has led the Department of Pedagogy to organize on February 16, 2018 the conference "On children's literature. Lines of research starting from the studies of Renata Lollo." Leading scholars have highlighted the evolution of her studies on children's literature, highlighting, among many arguments, the centrality of the relational gaze in becoming readers and the integral educability of childhood preserved in the literary text. To confirm the value recognized by the scientific community, on March 23, 2018 the Siped (Italian Society of Pedagogy) awarded Renata Lollo the special memorial prize, a testimony of which can be seen here.
