Elisabetta Locatelli "Health Communication"
What does it mean to communicate health on and with social media today? Who are the subjects acting in this context and what are the emerging figures? Thevolume aims to build a map of the relationship between communication and health in order to understand the constantly changing geography of this context and provide interpretative ideas. Through an approach inspired by narrative review, the volume explores in particular some topics, such as the role of social media in the communication of health in relation to parenthood and the public communication of the Covid-19 pandemic. These are intertwined with the attention to the health influencer phenomenon and to the dimension of nutrition in very early childhood. After outlining, in the first chapter, the key concepts of the discipline (health, communication), the second chapter deals with the relationship between social media and health in its implications, including recent ones, such as health influencers. The third chapter attempts to systematize the extensive literature and the main thematic areas of investigation on the Covid-19 pandemic. Finally, the fourth chapter focuses on the relationship between parents, health and social media. The argument is completed by the focuses dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and new technologies for health communication; social media and framing; social media, health and disinformation; digital health literacy.
