Founded by Mario Apollonio in 1973, as Annali della Scuola Superiore di Comunicazioni Sociali, a quarterly magazine, published regularly since 1979, it has intervened, with monographic issues alternating with miscellaneous issues, on the great and nodal themes of theater, cinema, radio, television, journalism, advertising, of new technologies. The journal has always promoted strictly scientific reflection on theory, history, and critical analysis of the media, while also intervening in the debate on the most contingent and thorny issues of communication, such as those of ethics and anthropological design.
