ll gruppo include docenti e studiosi con interessi nel campo dell’economia pubblica (scienza delle finanze) e della political economics

La ricerca svolta dal gruppo copre diversi argomenti nei due campi di ricerca. Per la economica pubblica, ricercatori del gruppo hanno studiato e pubblicato su temi come la tassazione ottimale, l’evasione fiscale, l’economia del crimine, il federalismo fiscale e la tassazione locale, la teoria delle secessioni, le regole fiscali europee e la sostenibilità del debito pubblico, e il procurement pubblico. Per quanto riguarda la political economy, sono stati affrontati temi come le regole elettorali ottimali, l’impatto dei media sulla politica, la trasparenza delle regole fiscali, l’emergenza del populismo e la selezione della classe politica. Un elemento distintivo della ricerca svolta nel gruppo, è l’utilizzo di dati relativi ai governi locali, sia in Italia che in altri paesi, per testare le diverse teorie. 

Per quello che riguarda la didattica, i componenti del gruppo offrono corsi a tutti livelli, sia di laura triennale che specialistica e sia in italiano che in inglese.
