Pediatric Surgery (MEDS-19/A)

The research activity of the Pediatric Surgery Unit is mainly focused on the study of congenital malformations, preferring their clinical aspects. Clinical research is also aimed at frequently encountered pathologies such as diseases of the male genitalia and neurogenic bladder. Particular attention is paid to technological innovation with clinical studies on cutting-edge surgical techniques and methodologies in children. The study of the mechanisms underlying malformative conditions is carried out in collaboration with pediatricians. In collaboration with anesthesiologists, clinical trials are carried out on local anesthetic drugs in pediatric age. Clinical trials are underway in collaboration with Child Neuropsychiatrists to research new therapies for the treatment of neuromuscular diseases.
