Abstract: The project "Interaction of genomic and dietary aspects in gastric cancer risk: the global StoP project (GenoStop)" was created with the aim of improving the understanding of gastric cancer through an innovative and multidisciplinary approach. By integrating epidemiological, genetic and environmental data and using information from the international consortium Stomach Cancer Pooling (StoP) Project, the project aims to identify new risk factors and develop advanced diagnostic tools for more effective prevention. The research makes use of a network of international experts to obtain concrete results applicable to clinical practice.

The project includes three research Work Packages:
WP1 – Analysis of diet, lifestyle and risk factors, including rare exposures.
WP2 – Study of risk factors in rare subgroups of patients.
WP3 – Development of a Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) and an integrated predictive model.

Three partners participate in the project, with expertise in epidemiology, genetics, biostatistics and public health:
UCSC (Rome) coordinates the proposal and is responsible for the genetic project of the consortium;
UNIMI is the consortium's data center;
UNIBO is a member of the Executive Committee and has a key role in data analysis.
