Abstract: The HUG (Urban green infrastructure, policies on green spaces and health outcomes: evidence from six small and medium-sized Italian cities for future urban adaptation plans) project is a research initiative that investigates the link between urban green spaces, related policies and public health outcomes in Italy. The main objective is to provide useful evidence to guide future urban adaptation plans.

The project starts from the assumption that urban green spaces (UGS) are essential to promote physical and mental health and to address urban challenges, such as climate change, but that their distribution and quality are often heterogeneous.
