Abstract: The project sees the participation of 10 Operating Units in 5 Italian Regions (FVG, Piedmont, Tuscany, Lazio and Sicily). The general objective is to provide knowledge on the burden of environmental exposure in the first 1000 days of life and to implement interventions aimed at reducing the risk of exposure. The specific objectives are as follows:
1. To develop knowledge on the overall burden of exposure to outdoor and indoor pollutants and climatic factors in the first 1000 days of life and on the associated health risks;
2. Communicate to parents, citizens, NHS staff, decision-makers and researchers the new knowledge developed within the project, also providing information to reduce the risk;
3. Carry out a communication intervention on these issues through an app developed ad hoc, which will be distributed to women in different Italian areas both during pregnancy and in the first months of the child's life. Information on the daily levels of air pollutants provided by ARPA will also be integrated into the app;
4. Promote integrated training initiatives on health-environment and climate in the first 1000 days of life.
