The event presents and discusses the findings of the work and well-being in science research conducted by professor brandon vaidyanathan of the Catholic University of America (washington, dc) and funded by the templeton religion trust.work and well-being in science is the first cross-national empirical research investigating the role of beauty, wonder, and awe in science, examining how aesthetic factors influence both the practice of science and the well-being of scientists. Analyses are based on nearly 3500 surveys and 205 in-depth interviews with scientists in physics and biology departments in four countries (India, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States).
