Genomics between research and innovation: challenges and opportunities for the integration of healthcare in Italy

On June 14, 2024, the event "Genomics between research and innovation: challenges and opportunities for integration in Public Health in Italy" was held at the Sapienza University of Rome in Rome. This event marked the conclusion of the CCM2021 project, "Italian Genomic Strategy: establishment of a control room to support the European initiative 1+Million Genomes (1+MG) and Beyond 1+MG (B1MG) and the Interinstitutional Coordination for Genomics in Public Health".

The project, under the scientific guidance of Prof. Villari Paolo of the Sapienza University of Rome, with the collaboration of Prof. Stefania Boccia of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome for the coordination of the specific objectives, aims to facilitate secure access to genomic and clinical data in Europe. The aim is to promote research, personalised medicine and the development of more effective health policies.

This event represents a significant step towards the integration of genomics into Italian public health, underlining the importance of collaboration and innovation to face future challenges.
