General and Applied Hygiene (MEDS-24/B)
The General and Applied Hygiene section of the University Department of Life Sciences and Public Health carries out training, research and assistance activities in the area of health protection and promotion, in particular of the community.
This area requires multidisciplinary skills ranging from general medical and biological sciences to epidemiology and health statistics, from governance of health systems and services to health technology assessment, from environmental safety and infection control to ethics and research on personalized medicine.
The need for the interdisciplinary method is, therefore, fundamental: Public Health cannot consider the problems except in a global vision, without however renouncing the necessary specific and sectoral insights.
To this end, it makes use of a network of collaborations with academic and non-academic structures, at national and international level.
