Università Cattolica in the European project TransatlanticLab

The Chair of Spanish and Hispanic American Language and Literatures at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore constitutes the Italian research unit of the TransatlanticLab project (TransatlanticLab-101235830, HORIZON-MSCA-2024-SE-01) coordinated by Prof. Consuelo Naranjo Orovio of the CSIC in Madrid. The project involves 24 research groups and over 140 professors from Europe, Africa and Latin America, with the aim of studying the phenomenon of Atlantic slavery and colonialism in their historical, literary and cultural dimension and the impact on contemporary society. The project will last four years and includes the organization of seminars, international congresses, summer shools, dissemination activities and the creation of a Chair of Memory and Afro-descendants.
